Melbourne style cheaper tickets plan

Morris Iemma has announced a trial of cheaper train tickets for commuters who arrive in the city before 715am, and between 915 and 1015 am, in a milder version of the free commuting offered to Melbourne commuters who arrive in the CBD before the morning peak. At this stage it seems to be a vote-catcher only for Western and Carlingford line commuters as a trial to run until 31 October.

Revesby Quadruplication set to start

The St George and Sutherland Shire Leader report that Frank Sartor has approved the start of the Kingsgrove- Revesby Quadruplication of the East Hills Line, a Rail Clearways project. Relocation of services will commence this year prior to the start of construction in 2009.
